Resources
Getting support for reclaiming your mind after narcissistic abuse can be tricky because so many therapists do not understand it. They think you just have to set a boundary and everything will be fine. If you like me have experienced it first hand, you will know that setting boundaries with a narcissist who is used to you having none, it makes it a whole lot worse.
YouTube Channel
Along with my own YouTube Channel there is a fantastic Doctor who actually does understand and educate about narcissistic abuse, if you want clinical DSM-5 information from a doctor who fully understands the impact a narcissist has on their victims please check out Dr Ramani @DoctorRamani
Self-Help Books
When I first discovered I was being emotionally and mentally abused I knew I needed help with getting myself mentally strong enough to make the changes that would eventually free me, self-help books became my best friends and still are, here are some that I relied on to help me through.
How an Empaths Nature Can Overcome a Narcissists Nurture
By Lisa Edwards
Myself and others share stories of how we discovered and eventually overcame the nurture that conditioned us to believe we was not good enough, not worthy of love, money, success, and even feeling safe. The stories will help to validate that what you are going through really is abuse while the exercises, tools and success stories will give you the resources you need to overcome your trauma and create the life you always knew you should be living.

You Can Heal Your Life
By Louise Hay
Not specifically about narcissistic abuse but about healing, finding old thought patterns, great for helping to identify what specific things you need to work on and great for self-love and self-compassion, which are needed for any kind of healing to take place. This was the book that set me on my journey, - I think I could probably say it's the first self help book I ever bought, if not it is certainly the first one I ever took seriously and it changed my life. Also there is a section that I continue to refer to that explains the correlation between the mind and our physical health with a list of ‘probable mental patterns that create illnesses in the body’ which may sound a little bit strange if you’ve never come across this before but I find that when I look up your aches and pains then look at what is going on in my life… it usually makes perfect sense.
You're Not Crazy - It's Your Mother
by Danu Morrigan
This one is a little more specific - Understanding and healing for daughters of narcissistic mothers. Again this was one of my first finds after discovering the words 'narcissistic parents', I went home typed it into my browser and it was the website of this author I found first that resonated with me. This was the moment I realised it wasn't me - it was them. I found it very relatable.
